Last month’s query
of a 6-year-old boy with ascitis, generalized edema, hypertension and hypoalbuminemia with normal renal function tests had various replies ranging from polycystic kidney disease to protein losing enteropathy. The authors have replied that kidney disease had been ruled out and are now working up the child on the lines of protein losing enteropathy as well as Tuberculous peritonitis. Hypertension still remains unexplained
