Last month’s query
of 5 years old boy with recurrent episodes of hematemesis, chronic liver disease, acidosis and hypoglycemia had several replies. Most of the viewers have suggested glycogen storage disorder. One viewer did suggest organic academia. The authors have replied that storage disorder has been ruled out, as biopsy did not show any evidence of storage disease. Also since this child has repeated acidosis with hypoglycemia an underlying organic acidemia/Lactic Acidosis is being suspected and investigations are being carried out on those lines.
