In an asthmatic patient due to allergic tendencies, one needs to avoid drugs that contain artificial colour and foods that contain artificial colour and preservatives as they can lead to allergy. Also in an asthmatic child, one need not give a cough experctoratnt but one needs to give bronchodilators to control the asthma.
