most often we come across pediatric pt who passes formed stool 4-5 t/day, imm after meals. ther is no history suggestive of any infective or GI etiology. is IBS(irritable bowel syn) is prevalent in them? what should be given?

This may be due to the gastro-colic reflex. Till the child is putting on weight and is otherwise normal, one needs to only reassure the parents.
