Safe antibiotic for 13 mth child with icterus,fever and diarrhea.

Answer
Penicillin derivatives are safe. Avoid ceftriaxone and macrolides. Other cephalosporins are also fine. First be sure that it is a bacterial infection before you give antibiotics.
