What is the role of Inj Tetvac in a injury because Inj Tevac give immunity after 11 days & incubation period of Teatnus is as low as 4 days

Answer
If the child has completed regular immunization schedule, there is no need for tetanus vaccine. TT can repeated every 10 years to maintain immunity. If the child is unimmunized and has an injury with contamination, one should given TT for full course (0,1,6 months). IF strong suspicion of tetanus, tetanus immunoglobulin is to be given.
