Question
My son is 18 months old. His fontanelle has been closed. It seems still opens around 3cm. He seems developing normally and apprears to be a smart kid. However, I am worried that his wideopen fontanelle may cause his health problems later on.
Answer
Usually the fonatanelle closes by 18 months and rarely by 2 years of age. Since the fontanelle is still wide open have him evaluated by the doctor to find out the cause. ALso get his head size measured and see if that is normal.
