|20 infants diagnosed as diabetic <1 year compared with 40 older children chosen among the 224 total diabetic cases by systemic random sampling. |
Demographic, clinical and biochemical parameters and Co morbidity and mortality compared. LBW had associations with infantile Diabetes Mellitus. Ketotic onset, shock requiring ventilatory and ionotropic support, more co morbid condition, poor glycemic control with more mortality found in <1 year than the older diabetics, which is found statistically significant (P value <0.05).
