My joy knows no bounds to see this august congregation of fellow pediatricians for the first time in the silk city of Bhagalpur on the occasion of XVIth Bihar State PEDICON - 2005.
Success of any conference does not mean the absence of failures, rather it means the attainment of the ultimate objectives. Winning a single battle does not mean anything if the war is not won. I believe that the success of an organization depends on a good team with people of good quality in it. Quality people mean people with sound character and integrity, high values and a positive attitude. I intended to be sincere in my efforts and I had the privilege of having the best brains around me, in the shape of the organizing committee. I feel grateful to my patrons and members of the organizing committee particularly Dr. S. K. Sinha, Chairman - Souvenir Committee, Dr. A. K. Singh, Co-organizing Secretary, Dr. S. S. Singh, Chairman - Scientific Committee, Dr. K. K. Sinha, Treasurer, Dr. B. K. Mishra, Dr. Bhagwan Das and Dr. Kumar Suneet, who left no stone unturned towards a solid ground preparation during the last four months.
I am thrilled to see amongst us, the president elect central IAP Dr. Nitin K. Shah & Dr. Tapan Kumar Ghosh - President East Zone IAP, the Secretary General IAP Dr. Bharat R. Agrawal who spared their valuable time to come over here. I would like to express my deepest sense of gratitude to the guest speakers, particularly Prof. (Dr.) A.K. Dutta, Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Mittal, Prof. (Dr.) Panna Choudhary, Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Sailli, Prof. (Dr.) Dilip Mukherjee, Prof. (Dr.) Sukanta Chatterjee, Prof. (Dr.) Ranjana Chatterjee & Prof. (Dr.) Indra Shekhar Rao who took lots of pain to come from far off places all the way to Bhagalpur.
I shall be failing in my duty, if I do not extend my sincere thanks to Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Srivastava & Dr. Nigam Prakash Narain, Secretary Bihar IAP who guided me all the time from Patna.
My heart felt thanks to the teachers and students of JLNMCH, Bhagalpur, members of IMA, Bhagalpur FOGSI, pharmaceutical houses and media people for helping me in a big way to ensure the success of the conference
My sincere thanks to the distinguished speakers and delegates of IAP Bihar and East Zone along with non-IAP delegates who spared their precious time to make this endeavor a success.
Last but not the least I must thank the District Magistrate, Bhagalpur Sri Mihir Kumar Singh, I.A.S. and the Divisional Commissioner of Bhagalpur Sri Ajay Nayak, I.A.S. for ensuring full support of the local administration.
