Why does diarrhea cause malnutrition?
- Impaired intestinal absorption causes loss of nutrients in diarrhea.
- Increased catabolism(waste of energy) due to infection.
- A child with diarrhea is often not hungry.
- Mothers withhold food during diarrhea.
- Doctors do not emphasize proper feeding during diarrhoea.
