Adjuvant analgesics: The W.H.O " analgesic Ladder" approach recommends co-administration of adjuvant drugs to treat opioid side-effects or symptoms associated with pain, or enhance analgesia (WHO 1996). This category includes numerous drugs that have primary indications other than pain but are analgesics in specific circumstances.
