Antidepressants
 
They are used in psychiatric patients to treat endogenous depression. eg. amytriptiline, imipramine

Route : Ingestion

Fatal dose : 1 to 2gms

Fatal Period : 1 to 6 days

Clinical picture : • dryness of mouth, blurred vision, sweating, dizziness
• urinary retention, hypotension, tachycardia,
• tremors, confusion, cardiac arrhythmias
• convulsions, coma


Treatment : • gastric lavage
• treatment of arrhythmias
• symptomatic
