Hands should be washed frequently with soap and water / alcohol based hand rubs/ antiseptic hand wash and thoroughly dried preferably using disposable tissue/ paper/ towel, especially:

After contact with respiratory secretions or such contaminated surfaces. |

Any activity that involves hand to face contact such as eating/ normal grooming / smoking etc. |
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India recommends the following technique to wash hands:
