The Neonatology chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics proudly announces the launch of its inaugural National conference, the IAP Neocon 2008, on June 14, and 15, at the Tata memorial hospital at Parel, Mumbai. Our friends from the NNF Mumbai and IAP Mumbai have extended their sincere and complete support as co organizers of this event.

This launch is not accompanied by the 'big bang' of 'music and masti', but quietly boasts of a scientific program that will gladden the purists and the practicality inclined. And we are proud of our home bred faculty. Your decision to register even for that sole reason would be a wise one indeed.

The conference includes 'interactive' talks, where the delegates get opportunities to question and comment on the issues presented by the speaker, and 'panel discussions', where delegates can add their own bits to the information imparted by expert panelists on important subjects. There will also be the launch of Dr. B B Jha Oration, delivered by one of Mumbai's 'big' ladies of neonatology.

One of three papers presented at the conference will be awarded the 'IAP Neocon gold medal', and there will be six free papers too. Selected posters also will be displayed at the conference venue.

The Choksi auditorium at the Tata memorial hospital is modern, comfortable and unostentatious. The venue is centrally located, and easily identifiable and approachable.
