About Bangalore

BANGALORE today well known as the “SILICON CITY” of India, has covered a long way since its establishment as Benda Kalooru. Bande Kalooru meaning Baked Beans was founded by a Hoysala King, Veera Ballalla as a gratitude to an old lady who offered him shelter and served him with baked beans when he was lost in the forest. It was later developed into a modern city by Kempe Gowda in 1537 from where the recorded history of the city starts.

Since then the growth of Bangalore has been unstoppable, because of the unique quality of its people to accept the change and transform it into their lives. Recently renamed as Bangaluru, this capital of Karnataka is the third most populous and fifth-largest metropolitan area of India. Its salubrious climate, the finest in India, friendly people, lush green gardens and its highly educated population have made this a hub of information –technology industry. Thus we can say that Bangalore is preparing itself for the coming hi- tech age.

The beautiful city of Bangalore has many magnificent structures full of historic and modern architecture. The places like Vidhana Soudha, Attara Kacheri, The Government Museum, Visweswaraiah Industrial & Technological Museum, Jawahar Bal Bhavan, Bull Temple (Dodda Basavanna Temple), The Venkataramanaswamy Temple, the Gavi Gangadhareswara cave temple, Someshwara Temple, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium, ISKCON Temple, Tipu Sultan's Fort and Palace to name a few are a sheer delight to watch.

The amiable garden city has parks like Cubbon Park and Lal-Bagh lending a charming grandeur to the city. Also a wildlife centaury called Bannerghatta National Park is situated at mere 20 Kms from the city.
