Summary
This short review summarizes the most important adverse effects of artificial colours and flavours used in pharmaceutical preparations and food products on child health.

As per the published studies these artificial additives are responsible for hazardous effects on child health. Various controlled clinical studies have shown that the hazardous effects of pharmaceutical additives are avoided when these additives are eliminated from diet and pharmaceutical preparations. Today, natural additives are emerging globally, leaving synthetic ones behind in the race, due to the realisation about its safety and ecofriendly nature.
