lower range is not a problem. if lower range but above hypoglycemia range, nothing is needed. he will improve over time

start glucose infusion with 6mg, kg, min preferrably via an infusion pump, monitor rbs, titrate accordingly.

What do you mean by rbs in lower range. rbs less than 40 is hypoglycemia. above 40 is normal.
GIR is glucose infusion rate.
