INFLUENZA - PREVENTION
Question:
Should both seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccine be taken?
Answer:
Yes, both seasonal flu and H1N1 vaccine should be taken as they both protect against different strains. Though initially H1N1 vaccine and flu vaccine were separate, the 2010-2011 flu vaccine protects against an influenza A H3N2 virus, an influenza B virus and the 2009 H1N1 virus and separate vaccines is not necessary.
