18 Apr 2011as most of the s. aureus is today mrsa types tha tdo not respond to cloxacillin and linezolid can be used orally against vancomycin ,which has to be given intravenous. but yes prior to start of antistaph consider on clinical and radiology for staph pneumonia

15 Apr 2011No, Linezolid shouldn`t be used for community acqired pneumonia, because in our country evidence showed that More than 90 percent staphyllococcus aureus of community acquired are sensitive to Cloxacillin, thus for CAP cloxacillin should be used as first antimicrobial of choice.
