As per definition of microcephaly, it is head circumference more than 3 standard deviation below for that age & sex. BUT no chart including NCHS gives 3sd standard deviation which is actually less than 2 percentile(it is 3sd & not 3rd percentile) please clarify. My daughter will be 5 years in April. She was a preterm baby of 7th month. She has not yet caught up on her weight and is only 11 kgs now. Though we are giving her all required nutrients along with daily supplement of simly-mct oil. she is having poor weight gain. i want to know what kind of problems she may have in future due to poor weight gain? Will it effect her eyes? What should I do from now so that she always has healthy eyes? Are there vitamin A drops available in the market or anything of that sort which will keep her eye healthy as the kids are nowadays exposed to television and computer since a very young age. My child is 7 months old. His weight is 6.0. He might have lost a few grams from diarrhea for past one week. Now he is relieved from diarrhea. No dehydrations present. He looks life 4 months baby. Will you please suggest any home treatment or any tonics for his growth. My height is 4.3" and his father's height is 5.5". I want my child to grow taller to an average Indian height. A 5wk old child was referred by health visitor regarding that the baby was not gaining weight. He was basically bottle fed, takes 5 oz every 3 hours c & g. Baseline bloods including FBC U&E LFT TFT BONE PROFILE WERE normal except sr phosphate is high which is 2.42. We have not yet got a diagnosis but o/e has GRD 3/6 sm+ CXR was normal. Could you tell what other investigation we do in this baby. Check Out the Answer
