Hi Doctor, My son is 1.5 months old. He is 5 weeks pre-turm baby. He has conjugated jaundice. We are Indian and now in UK. Recently Liver & Kidney have been scaned and found normal and no obstraction of biliary tree. So what will be next. His mum was affected with TORCH infection in her pregnancy. Please help. 16 yr oid female is hepatitis B carrier discoverd by chance her inves completetigation are ;HBs Ag positive,HBe Ag and HBc Ag negative,HBc Ab HBe Ab positive ,PCR HBV DNA 519 LFT normal does this patient need treatment ? is there isbenefit of lamivuidine 100 mg/day for 1 yr for complete elimination of viremia and viral replication? with my regards

A 11year female come uncouncious with seizure in causalty and looked very weak.ON doing RBS it was 18mg/dl only.25%dextose and 10%dextrose was given as per guidelines and after some minute she became completly contious.ON further investigation her SGOT was 2104,SGPT2069,ALP900,Bilirubin2.6 of which direct was 2.Further Rbs was normal and USG showed vascular calcification.Since the patient is from a village and came few days ago to the land lords house detail history could not be elicitated.Only information was that it was his second attack and even his three sibling in the village has jaundice for the last year and are very yellow.Mp and widal was negative.These episode happened at sleep .What are the remaining investigation needed to be done as facility here is scarce.

In a baby born to hep b mother its common practice to immunise actively and passively against hep b at birthor within 12 hours.the usually we need to repeat again the serology to look for hep antibody adn antigen detection.whats teh optimal time to do that.if done earlier(3 months) and the antibody is positive and antigen for hep is neg,do we need to repeat the test again in later time as could the antibody be from the mother.
