Question
Dear sir 14 y female present with pallor and tachycardia her ECG is; now the ECG is cmplete; http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/1261/ecgqe4.jpg Is this arrhythmia SVT or AF...? Any role for surgery..?
Answer
The ECG shows a WPW with short PR interval with no features of flutter waves. It would be necessary to do Electrophysiological mapping studies to exactly determine the focus and type of arrhythmia. Once detected it can be successfully ablated by radio frequency ablation. Surgery would not be required.
