Question

could IBS present with bloody diarrhea and tenesmus sometimes....? General stool exam.reveal E.histolytica.....trphozoites &cysts.Any relation between amebiasis and IBS.If the general condition of the patient is very good could it be be mild form of inflammatory bowel disease . What is your openion

Answer

If the stool has shown E histolutica, one should treat the patient for the same. If after eradication of this infection, bloody diarrhea persists then other causes of diarrhea with blood in stools should be ruled out.
