Question
Is lansoprazole, tinidazole, and clarithromycin given to pediatric patients? If yes, what are the dosages? Thanking You
Answer
Tinidazole is used in children in the dose of 50 mg/kg as a single dose in giardiasis and 50mg/kg/day OD for 3 days for acute amoebic dysentry. Clarithromycin is used in children in the dose of 15mg/kg/day bd. Though lansoprazole has been used in children in some studies it is used in children as per the pediatrician's discretion. Omeprazole has been used very frequently in children at the dose of 0.7-1.4mg/kg/day PO 24 hourly.
