Question
A child with category III dog bite, received NTV and ARS on day of bite. He reported in OPD on day and wants to switch over to TCV. In such dog bite case; what schedule of TCV to be followed? In case dog is alive and/or died/killed.
Answer
Cell derived vaccine can be given on Day 0,1,3,7,21 and 90 days. If the dog dies, entire course should be given. If the dog survives after 10 days, then no need to continue the ARV after that.
