Can Inj.Contramal/Tramadol given during labour cause respiratory depression in the newborn?What is the duration of its effects inthe mother /Neonate?

Answer

Though there is a risk of neonatal resp depresssion with use of tramadol in labour, the evidence is not statistically significant.
