What is the use of the drug enalpril in pediatrics? How much dose should be given & what are the side effects? Thanks.
Answer
Role of enalapril is mainly as an antihypertensice agent. It can also be used as a nephroprotective agent in patients with proteinuria and nephrotic syndrome with Hepatitis B positive. The dose is 0.2mg/kg/day. Side effects are hyperkalemia, dry cough and elevated creatinine.
