Question
Is paracetamol safe in jaundice if yes what is the dosage 2) which antiemetic is safe in jaundice 3) in kerosene poisoning which antibiotic is safe after pneumonia develops?
Answer
Paracetamol in regular dose can be used in jaundice.
In patients with jaundice, ondensteron or domperidone can be used as anti-emetic. Sometimes phenargan may also be useful.
Pneumonia after kerosene poisoning is usually chemical pneumonia with secondary infection by staphyloccocus or gram negative bacteria. Hence antibiotics to cover gram staph as well as gram negative bacteria are recommended.
