Question
Nimesulide works better as an antipyretic than paracetamol in bringing down fever in my experience especially when temperature is more than 100 degrees fahrenheit. Is there any absolute contraindication for the use of nimesulide in the management of fever? What is the safety profile of Nimesulide? Is there any long term toxicity or complication in using nimesulide as an antipyretic in the dose of 5-8mg/kg/day in 2 or 3 divided doses for a period of 3 days in the management of fever?
