Question
It is said that 2 live vaccines should be given on the same day or one month apart. But as we are doing Pulse Polio campaign, some babies are already immunized with any live vaccine like BCG 15 days back then what should be done, whether to give OPV to that baby or not?
Answer
Oral Polio Vaccine is the only exception as it leads to more of local GI infection and not much systemic spread when given orally. Hence it does not interfere with other live vaccines as there is no typical viremia following OPV.
