Question
How does stridor occur in hydrocephalus? What is the dose and route of administration of vitamin k in chronic liver disease? What is the upper limit of alkaline phosphatase in normal growing children? Is there any role for aspirin in rheumatic chorea? What are the clinical features of hyperspleninism in children? Can we give routine immunization to all cases of cerebral palsy? When will you call chronic liver disease?
Answer
Stridor in hydrocephalus is seen due to raised ICT and involvement of respiratory center in brain stem.

Vitamin K can be given IM or orally 5-10mg.

Upper limit of alkaline phosphatase varies as per the lab. However, standard values can be obtained from the link given below:

There is no role as aspirin in rheumatic chorea.

Clinical features of hypersplenism are pancytopenia with splenomegaly, high retic count and increased destruction of RBCs by nuclear scan.

Yes, all vaccines can be given in children with cerebral palsy as it is a static encephalopathy and not progressive.

Chronic liver disease is defined as a continuing liver disease without improvement. It requires a time factor of at least six months duration including both clinical and laboratory features, but not a histological change. Sometimes, diagnosis has already been made and therapy begun before such a time requirement.
