Question
My 6.5 month old daughter has been diagnosed with congenital hypotonia. For the past one month she had to be admitted in hospital two times due to pneumonia. I was wondering whether there is any vaccine for pneumonia which can be administered in the child like her.
Answer
Yes 2 vaccines that should be given are Hib vaccine and also Conjugated Pneumococcal vaccine (the unconjugated can be given only after 2 years of age). Also one can give influenza vaccine if she is prone to viral infections.
