Infectious Disease Introduction
Infectious Disease is the abnormality in the normal functioning of an organ, or part of the body of an organism caused by the external agents like pathological microorganisms . Infectious Diseases in Children These pathological agents are called Infectious disease agents. The infectious disease is shown by some external signs these are called as symptoms. By analyzing these symptoms one can know the type of infectious diseases and also the disease causing agents. Some of the infectious disease agents are pathogenic viruses, bacteria's, fungi, protozoa, multicellular parasites, and the prions (aberrant proteins). These agents can attack both animals and plants and are able to cause diseases. Infectious disease is the result of interaction between the infectious disease agents and the immune or defense system of the host they attack. Thus the appearance and the severity of the disease are mainly depending on the ability of the pathogen to infect the host as well as the ability of the host to resist the pathogenic agents.
