Autoimmune diseases arise from an overactive immune response of the body against substances and tissues normally present in the body. In other words, the body actually attacks its own cells. The immune system mistakes some part of the body as a pathogen and attacks it.

What is Antinuclear Body Test:

Antibodies are substances that are produced by the immune system of the body to fight the germs causing infection. Sometimes there is abnormal production of antibodies (auto-antibody) that attack the body's own body systems and tissues leading to autoimmune diseases such as systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), scleroderma, Sjogren's syndrome etc.
