My 3 year old son has Asthma ?
i have a 3 year old son who has been on to Inhalers for Asthma since he was 6 months old. now the past couple of days, and this has happened many times before, he has this really bad constant cough, no sore throat and no other symptons. And when he gets like this his inhalers no longer work for him like they r supposed to. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas or tips on how I can at least relieve him a bit, especially at night. He just coughs and coughs until he throws up. Please help.

the problem could be due to ger.avoid giving packed food like chips khurkhure, chips, lays, cheetos or any food with high fat content.if there is no response investigate for GER and treat accordingly.

Hi. I am Dr Ankit Parakh, Pediatric Chest Specialist at BLK Hospital Delhi. The child needs complete evaluation regarding the diagnosis: difficult to label asthma in under five children, mimickers have to be ruled out {congenital problems, gastoesophageal related, bacterial bronchitis, etc}. It also needs to be seen of they have associated co-morbid conditions like allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, adenoids, etc. The next step is the enviornmental control and technique of inhalers {whether they are used with spacers in correct technique}.
Usually we would be able to sort out the issues with minimal investigations in most cases.
Apologies, but there is no one step which could be advised to make him better. Consult your doctor preferably a pediatric chest specialist in your city or if none then a pediatrician.
I hope he gets better soon.
Have you consulted your pediatrician about this_? I just found out that my youngest child have zinc deficiency knowing some symptoms are same with your child. I`ve also read at products.mercola, com, zinc-supplements, my child might have a weak immune system too.
