EXPERT OPINION:

Query: My daughter has a mild unilateral facial paralysis from birth. I am looking for options other than surgery, cranial sacral therapy. What are my chances of any recovery? She is 2 years and 4 months.

Answer: The treatment of congenital facial palsy would be surgery. Since the nerve is damaged since birth, the only treatment possible is physiotherapy and surgery if the defect is too cosmetic or causing feeding problems.
