Query: Sir, My son is 10 months old he has tiny 2-3 Cms round red patches developing on the legs face & back. The older one get cured and new one comes out at different place. According to the skin specialist it is Prurigo-mitis. What is Prurigo-mitis? What is the treatment for it? Is it curable? What precautions should be taken for it? Thanks
Answer: Prurigo mitis are extremely itchy skin lesions that have no apparent cause. The lesion is accompanied by skin thickening and pigmentation. Prurigo mitis occurs early in childhood and is characterized by uniform type of small rounded, flesh colored, flat-topped lesions. Treatment consists of antihistamines.
