Question Category : Dental Caries
Dear Dr, My daughter is 4 and has cavities on the side of her canine teeth and on her molars and I took her to a dentist who recommended an x-ray before he could do any thing. My worries is that my daughter would not allow the doctor to put anything on her mouth and the Dr said that she has to be anaesthesized , this scares me and I do not want anything serious to happen to my little girl.

My son is 4yrs 5months old and he has 2 cavities. My dentist recommends filling the teeth and sealants. My child is not complaining of any pain. Should we have the teeth filled or wait for them to fall out? Is there a particular type of filling we should avoid?

My baby has got moderate BBTD disease. One tooth has been fallen, I am afraid for other 3 decayed teeth. The only solution that doctors suggest is to make custom fit crowns for his teeth by anaesthesy. I would appreciate your readiness to share your knowledge if you give me information that what are the latest treatment methods in case of moderate BBTD (baby bottle tooth decay)? I want to be sure that the crowns are the only way to save the space and prevent destroy of current decayed tooth. Thank you so much for your interest in children tooth health.

I took my 19 month old son to a pediatric dentist and he diagnosed him with breastfeeding caries. He said that he would schedule a cleaning, and prescribe heavy fluoride treatments, and then when my son was between 2 and 3 years old, he would schedule him for some crown work on the 4 front teeth. What is your feeling about fluoride treatments for one so young, and what do you feel about crown work on a 2 year old? Thank you.
