My girl is 5 1/2 yrs old, I find she has rapid heartbeats after walking or running, I can hear the thumping of the heart if I place my hand on the chest. Kindly advice me the number of heartbeats/minute at rest and after exercise for a 5 1/2 year old. 2yrs back an echo was done to eliminate 'murmur. Echo was normal. Check Out the Answer

Dear sir, what would be the differential diagnosis of a child who is very well nourished but coming in with a symptoms of wet beri-beri (cardiomyopathy with right heart failure)and improving tremendously with oral thiamine and being discharged. This child does not have any evidence of any other vitamin or mineral deficiency or PEm and comes froma well of family. But this child is developmentally delayed but not dysmorphic. After a day of swimming and heat indexes of 110 degrees, my daughter had chest pain and a heart rate of 150... After an hour it was down to 120. The next day we are getting a resting heart rate from 100 to 125. Should we be concerned, or could the exercise, dehydration, etc possibly been the culprit? What would you advise? Dear sir My 7 months old daughter echo report is --complete A V canal defect (VSD)+ASD+severe pulmonary stenosis with infundibular stenosis +hypoplastic pulmonary annulus+normal biventricular function.She is also having down syndrome. She is diagnosed as TOFF with AV CANAL type VSD.I want to know when there is no over riding of aorta why she is labels as TOFF.As I know TOFF has 4 component SUNDEEP Check Out the Answer

I have been suspected of rheumatic fever and all the symptoms came out correct. That is mu esr was 35, aso was 400 and crp was +ve and I started on peptide tablets( pencillin tablets). After 5 days I met another cardiologist (when I was on the pencillin) who took the test again and all the result came normal except ASO what should I do, I still have small swellings in arm and leg. My 6 year old was recently diagnosed as having a bowing in the mitral artery with a small leak. We went to the cardiologist today and here did the echo. He discovered that the Pulmonary artery is letting blood flow back into the heart in addition to out to the lungs. They also found that he has "Coronary to Pulmonary fistula".
