Question Category : Hypospadias
My son has Hypospadias and has now had three operations to try and rectify the problem and on each occasion it has failed. Could you please advise on the success rate and whether this is acceptable. He is now three years old and this is starting to cause some distress. Will it ever be fixed? Or should I make a formal complaint to the hospital concerned.
Question Category : Hypospadias
My son, now 17 months old, is uncircumcised. He was born with a condition where his urine exits his body at a right angle. I cannot determine if his foreskin is partially covering the urethral opening, or if the tip of his penis is angled slightly. We have not retracted his foreskin at all. Our pediatrician said it is "nothing to worry about", but I'd like to know more about what is causing this, and if it is likely to go away and when. I am concerned that peeing at an odd angle will be a challenge for toilet learning, not to mention a future source of teasing!
