My son, who is 3 years 2 months has suffered from Nephrotic Syndrome 10 days back & has been discharged from the hospital. He has responded well to prednisolone & is on this drug treatment. I would like to know what kind of diet I should be giving to him from now onwards. Would highly appreciate if u can provide a diet list to me Thanking you Best Regards

Dear sir, My grandson,35 months old suffering from Nephrotic Syndrom. He was on 30 mg oral Prednisone daily for six weeks. His protien in urine turned negative. He is on 20 mg oral Prednisone every alernate day since last week.Now his Prtien level in urine has incresed to 1+. Doctor advised to continue the treatment for another six week. Now he has lost his appetite. He does not want to eat regular diet.Neither he drinks milk, fruit juice even avoids drinking water. however he asks for deep fried things like Potatochips, Poorees,etc. He also asks for Maggi noddles. Whether we can offer him deep fried foods? Please advice us.Is there nothing wrong in that? What should we do? Thanking you.

My son ( 12 years + )is suffering from Nephrotic Syndrome for the last 7 months. We appreciate your valuable time to response us with your special advise. He has leakage of Protein in Urine. 9.2 grms in 24 hour. A brief history as follows, 1. Problem detected. 25.5.2002. Urine analysis shows 3 grm protein in urine. 2. Two months medication taken but no result came. 3. Kidney Biopsy done : 02.8.2002. and result came 20.8.2002. from Germany. 4. Result : Combination of minimal chain disease & Mesangio proliferative IgA nephrities. 5. New medicines started with Cellcept (Mycophenolate Mofetil ) & Sandimmum Neoral (Ciclosporin 25 mg). after seeing the result. 6. No positive result came and Medicine changed again on. 25.9. 2002. Stopped Cellcept / Neoral and start Endoxan (Cyclophosphamide) with 50 mg daily later on 26.10.2002 increased dose to 50 mg Morning / 50mg Evening daily. 7. The last report shows 14 grm in 24h Urine on 02.12.2002. Seems no response shows till today. Kidney function are ok. 8. Medicine details report attached herewith to see the time and kind of medicine. Being Parent we are really concern about our child and his treatment and trying our best to make possible cure. We really appreciate your advise to this case. Your valuable time being spent for us will be appreciated and will be reworded by the GOD almighty. Your feed back of Medicine / side effects & treatment also other important guideline are awaited.
