Question Category : New Borns
Hi, we have just been blessed with a baby daughter. She is ten days old. I am concerned about lumpy swellings on both her breasts. We took her to a Dr yesterday and he said its nothing abnormal and happens due to excess of some hormone in the mother which gets transferred to the baby and that it would take a few weeks for the excess hormone to kind of get out of her system. kindly advice, thanks and god bless.

My daughter is 29 days old. Sometimes when she cries, she holds her breath for 10-15 seconds. What should we do the next time. She holds her breath. we are really worried I did her cranial ultrasound. its absolutely normal. Except for her holding breath, she seems to be fine

I do not know who will answer or exactly how, either. But here goes. A friend of mine has a 6 month old girl, who was full term and weighed only 4 lbs 9 ounces. The mom is young (19) and I do not think she realizes that this is very abnormal for a birth weight. The doctor sent the child home 3 days later. At 6 months this little girl has no muscle tone. She does not sit up, reach for things, smile, or interact in what I think would be normal ways. I held her last night, and a 2 month old, and that 2 month old was active and grinning and is rolling over. The 6 month old baby feels limp. She doesn't reach for her bottle. Are all the red flags I'm feeling justified? Is she going to "catch up" or should I say something?

I usually let my 3 month old baby wear mittens because she always scratches herself when she has no mittens on. However I was told that she needs her fingers to be free so that she can feel things & strengthen her fingers. Is it true?

Whenever my baby cries, I will nurse her. She gets comforted by it & falls asleep. However how would I know if I am overfeeding her? She appears to be still suckling while sleeping. Therefore she gets choke sometimes. Should I be concern? Should I remove her when I see that she is dozing off?

My daughter was diagnosed with delayed fear response, which infants have, but grow out of, when my child hears certain noises, she will bend rapidly at the waist, and fall down if she is standing. She does not have seizures. How can this be treated or can it. any info greatly appreciated.
