Question: My granddaughter is being breastfed by a smoker of 1 pack a day. She even smoked during pregnancy. My granddaughter is about 18 months & I have asked my daughter-in-law to quit breastfeeding after I read many reports and research studies by physicians that smokers who breast feed are passing on nicotine and breastfed babies by smokers have a high amount of nicotine in their urine. The articles claim that breast feeding by a smoker is more dangerous than the side effects of second hand smoke. Why isn't this covered in your articles? Check Out the Answer
