Our eldest daughter was molested when she was 4 and was raped by two boys at the age of thirteen. Her behavior was disruptive in the home. Drinking, smoking and breaking curfews. We did not know of the molestation and rape. At the age of 16 she complained of extreme stomach pains. She was investigated tests proved nothing. Once again she was admitted for stomach pains and the doctor removed her healthy appendix. At the age of 17 we pressed our daughter about her behavior and she passed out. She was unconscious for 20 minutes. Vitals were normal. She would awaken from the unconsciousness screaming or crying. She continued to fall anywhere, at school, between two doors of our home, in the shower. We got her to a hospital and she was admitted to a psychiatric ward for one night observation. The doctor released her in the morning. We pressed for her to remain in hospital. She was transferred to a rural hospital in our area. It was during her week long stay at that hospital that she disclosed the molestation and rape. We found that the molestation was triggered by water. There were water pipes in the room that she was violated. She was confusing the two events in her mind.

Over time she changed her hair color, her personality and her behavior. She had tried counseling several times and it has failed miserably.

Over the last year our daughter who is now 21 has developed psorisis. She continues to pass out. Over the past two weeks she has been throwing up. Anything she eats she throws up 30 minutes later. Most recently, she had passed out in the morning and was rushed to emergency. She passed out at the registration desk. She was rushed to a bed and all tests (CAT EEG Blood) came back normal. A neurologist met with her and found nothing.

I learned of conversion disorder from a TV program. I am wondering if this could be the disorder that our 21 year old daughter suffers from. How do we proceed ahead in getting a proper diagnosis?

Thank you.
