Question
My 2 year old son has had strange black spots on his canine teeth top and now recently his bottom teeth. They are very close to his gums. It doesn't seem to bother him, but I'm concerned as to what they are. He's had them pretty much since he got all his teeth in. Can you help?
Answer
Rule out caries. Also is he on iron supplements? If yes, iron can also cause these black spots. Rule out other drug ingestion. Consult a pediatric dentist.
