Question
My daughter is 6yrs. old and she came to me the other day and she told me that she has a new tooth coming in. She hasn't lost any of her baby teeth yet, but it looks like she has a tooth coming in clear in the back and on top. Is this normal? I thought all of her baby teeth have come in.
Answer
Sometimes it does occur that the permanent teeth come up first before the baby teeth are lost. In such cases, one has to see if there is enough space for the new tooth to come out. If not the baby tooth may have to be removed to may place for the new one. Consult a pediatric dentist.
