Question
My son's gums are brownish purple around the teeth. It reminds me of the gums of the dogs we used to have when I was a kid. What is this? What can we do to get rid of it?
Answer
Gums may be hyper pigmented due to a variety of reasons such as drugs, high hemoglobin level of blood or it could just be a normal variant. Consult your pediatrician to find out the cause and if all is normal, you need not be worried about it.
