Question
if you suspect a child may have swallowed a small object but did not witness it and the child has no symptoms, what should you do? the child is less than 2 years old
Answer
If the child as swallowed something and is absolutely fine, the object should come out in the stools. If the object does not come out even after 7 days, an X-ray may be taken to locate it. However, if an open safety pin or battery has been swallowed, you need to show him to a pediatrician immediately.
