Question
I have a 21 month old son who had removed a right kidney in July 2003. We have now been told that he has hydronephrosis in the left kidney is there any possibility that he may loose this kidney too we are still on going with scans and tests.
Answer
What was the reason for the nephrectomy? The hydronephrotic kidney is causing problems with renal function may predict chronic renal insufficiency and you may need to follow up with a pediatric nephrologist to monitor him for renal failure and further treatment.
