Question
When there is poor compliance of drugs like prednisolon by the patients in case of nephrotic syndrome. There is puffiness of face and albumin in urine. Can we say that it is a treatment failure or we have restart the treatment.
Answer
A child who has compliance problem with steroids for Nephrotic syndrome is very difficult as a result of which what one may prescribe and what the child may actually take is all the more different. He has to be prescribed steroids under supervision provided compliance can be ensured. Your pediatric nephrologist would be best guide to determine what should be done in his case and as each patient's therapy is individualised.
